Overview

Produced using a white nitrile rubber compound, JVI NOMARX is the shield you need to prevent damage and discoloration to sensitive surfaces.

In addition to being an ideal solution for preventing spalling in precast shipping and storage applications, JVI NOMARX is resistant to oils, solvents, and fuels.

It has the added benefit of being FDA approved and meets “3A Sanitary Standards for Multiple-Use Rubber and Rubber-Like Materials used as product contact surfaces in dairy equipment” Number 18-01, Class III and IV.

Shimmers

High-strength Plastic Shims for Vertical Adjustment

SHIMMERS are molded from a high impact polystyrene (H.I.P.S), which combines high compression strength and superior load bearing surface contact characteristics. They assure accurate placement of precast and prestressed concrete walls, floors, architectural and structural concrete members.  

Shim Strips

Offered in many convenient thicknesses, lengths, and widths, our high-compression/highly durable shim strips assure accurate placing and  leveling.

Shim Packs & Multi-Packs

Pre-assembled packages of shims designed for precise placement; offered in 17-piece heat-sealed packs to incrementally peel shims for easy height adjustment (Shim-Packs); or packaged with a variety of color-coded widths rubber banded together (Multi-pack).

Bearing Strips

Designed to be placed between concrete floor slabs and a supporting wall or beam. The smooth surface allows for movement of precast floor slabs and helps them easily into their final position.

Horseshoe Shims (Original & Adjustable)

Shaped to fit around screws for various leveling and spacing applications without the need to dissemble components.  Available in a variety of sizes.  Also available in adjustable shim packs allowing up to 16 thickness adjustments as well as length adjustments.

Overview

Available as shim strips, shim packs, bearing strips and horseshoe shims, SHIMMERS are perfect for leveling and accurate placement of precast and prestressed concrete walls, floors and architectural and structural components.

SHIMMERS are molded from a high impact polystyrene (H.I.P.S), which combines high compression strength and superior load bearing surface contact characteristics. They assure accurate placement of precast and prestressed concrete walls, floors, architectural and structural concrete members.

They also offer true shim thicknesses with a greater load bearing contact area. Cored-out, hollowed-out shims with less material are cheaper, more apt to fail and lose compression under load. Shims with holes, fancy bumps, interlocks and striations don’t give true surface contact. They can reduce the load bearing contact area up to 70%.

NEWLON molded neoprene for load-bearing applications in steel and/or precast concrete commercial structures as well as in steel and/or precast concrete highway bridges.

This product has been used for many, many years and was the predecessor to Masticord until a stronger material was needed for bearings. Newlon is still used for bridges.

NEWLON is availble in 50, 60, or 70 Shore “A” durometer hardness

NEWLON is avaiable in all available durometers in the following stock thicknesses: 1/8″, 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″.  For additional thickness requests, please contact us.

Overview

The MASTICORD random oriented fiber (ROF) and rubber composition pad is used primarily in precast concrete commercial structural applications, but is also used in short-span precast concrete bridges and structural steel bearings.

The firm published its original MASTICORD Design Guide in 1982. Product improvements led to a second edition in 1984 and ongoing improvements and testing resulted in a third edition published in 1987.

All research and development of the MASTICORD program has been with the collaboration of Raths, Raths & Johnson structural engineers of Willowbrook, Illinois. The MASTICORD Design Guide continues to be the “bible” of the precast concrete industry.

MASTICORD can be provided with a bonded DYNALON (PTFE) surface for use in expansion bearing.

Composed of highest quality PTFE sheet, DYNALON can be permanently bonded to any size, type or thickness of steel plate, neoprene pad, or preformed fabric pad. Custom assemblies can be furnished complete or it can be bonded to customer’s assemblies.

Composed of highest quality PTFE sheet, DYNALON can be permanently bonded to any size, type or thickness of steel plate, neoprene pad, or preformed fabric pad. Custom assemblies can be furnished complete or DYNALON can be bonded to customer’s assemblies.

DYNALON can be used in both steel and concrete construction. Typical applications are found in the construction of bridges, parking decks, sports arenas, civic centers, high rises, shopping malls, hospitals, schools, office buildings, warehouses, and pipelines.

CAPRALON pre-formed fabric pads featuring alternating layers of cotton/polyester fabric and elastomer vulcanized together.

CAPRALON pads are used to eliminate spalling by accomodating constuction tolerances and allowing for lateral movement.   

CAPRALON pads can be provided with a bonded DYNALON (PTFE) surface for use in expansion bearing.

CAPRALON also is used to control shock and vibration in industrial applications of drop forge hammers, wear pads, and other machine-related vibration dampening applications.

CAPRALON is available in the following stock thicknesses: 1/8″, 15/64″, 11/32″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″.
